The Colour Pencil Bible by Alyona Nickelsen is a must-have for every colour pencil artist
who wants to draw still-life objects. However, I didn't think the book didn't cover what I wanted
to learn-which is how to draw realistic colour pencil portraits of people.
However, The Colour Pencil Bible is a must have becouse it explains both good paper and
the brands in the colour pencil world, and techniques very well.
I've had the Colour Pencil Bible for some time now, but I ordered the book by Ann Kullberg
about a month ago and I absolutely loved it.
Kullberg shows with easy steps about creating belivable skin tones (Yay!) painting fabric
and hair.
I would also like to say BRAVO to Ann Kullberg for also giving me a wake-up
call when it comes to composition. The book is easy to follow with pictures step-by step,
as the title suggests. I highly recommend this book for colour pencil enthusiasts.
I love these Faber Castel watersoutable colour pencils. I will show you something I made with
them later. :)
PS: Ann Kullberg recommends Prismacolour for achiving the best result with colour pencils, and
I do agree-but I have seen many artist make amazing results with Faber Castell.
You should always choose pencils after what suits YOUR drawing style.
OK guys,
have a great week and remember to stay creative!:)
