WONDER WITCH BODY TYPE YOU ARE?
Since you found this blog, I guess you recognize yourself from the sketch over.
You have probably already googled "petite" and "how to dress pear shaped" and
you`re a little confused.
Becouse it`s not easy-after reading a lot of fashion blogs myself I found
that many writes about how to dress when your`re petite-and rectangled shaped.
(Small, but not so much curves.)
So I wanted to write an almost complete guide for us that are petite, but
doesn`t have that rectangled body or banana shaped body, if you will.;)
Now, a few ground rules if you`re petite:
- You will almost always want to look taller, so wear shoes that will make
you look taller.High heels or wedges, you decide. Shoes with open toe
is also a winner. The shoes should always stop under your knee or
right under your ancle.
Onlineshops like jjhouse.com sells small shoes, and some shoe stores like
Bianco sells shoes down to size 35.
For pants and dresses, you should always wear pants with darker colour
than the colour on your upper body, and do not wear clothes that are too
tight. It`s better to buy clothes that fit now than buy too small clothes
that you hope to fit into in your future.
A ground rule is also that dark colours makes you look thinner,
bright colour makes you larger.
Wear vertical stripes-that makes your legs look longer.
Wearing one colour is a big yes becouse you want to make it simple-
wearing to many colours and patterns will make you look smaller.
That also means jewellery.
If you want to use jewellery, a good advice is to use something like
a chain witch are A-shaped-it makes your neck looks longer.
A-shaped skirts is always good.
You also want to look for pants that are carrot-shaped and with high waist,
especially if you`ve got love handles that you want to hide.
Most people look good with high-waisted pants that stops right
underneath your navel, but it depends what you want are comfortable with.
Also look for dresses that are high-waisted with a bit of empire-waist if you`ve
got a belly or love handles that you want to hide, but very important
it has to stop over your knees or it will make you look smaller.
Using a belt can help create a waist line where you want the eyes to look,
on the places of your body that you are satisfied with.:)
Tunikas over some carrot shaped pants or tights are a big yes.
Green, black and red suits most people but by all means use a colour
that you are comfortable with and makes you happy.
V-necks is always good as they draw the attention to your upper body.
Example for a good outfit for work can be a blouse and a
blazer with shoulder pads. When you are petite and pear-shaped, it is
allowed. You don`t have to look like Alexis from Dynasty just
becouse you wear shoulder-pads;)
Shoulder pads will help you balance your body.
A blazer with shoulder pads and pants with carrot legs are a winner,
especially if you wear shoes with a little height.
Another example.
Notice that when you are petite (here it depends
on your face shape) short hair can also make you appear a little taller,
specially if you use a little hair powder and style it.
You also want to remember these rules when you go shopping
for jackets and coats- they should always stop over your knee or it will
make you look shorter than you actually are.
You can also find hold-in underwear nowadays that`s actually made for
every day use. You find hold-ins for both your mid-section and thighs
and just singlet tops that keeps your muffin top in place.
At last, remind yourself on what you want people to focus on-
your face, your arms, your neck etc.:)
It`s perfectly normal to be petite and not look like those
body types you often see in media with "perfect"shaped bodies.
